Finally -- I decided to blog. I am currently a software engineer at least that's what my title says, have designed sites for some people and small businesses but never had my own website (except what my ISP's give me)
I live in Corrales NM, a suburb of Albuquerque. It used to me a place where old New Mexican farming families (in New Mexico -- there is more of a real mix of Anglos, Native Americans and non immigrant hispanic families who probably had been in the area for 300 years -- I think a lot of America is still struggling with the concept that Hispanic people all came from South of the border)
Now Corrales is slowly getting gentrified and one of the most expensive real state areas in New Mexico. When I moved here 7 years ago, fresh from Vermont (where I lived off the grid and had a struggling hippyish lifestyle) -- I managed to convince the bank to give me a mortgage on a 1.5 acre land and an old small house. It is still small but around me are "developed areas" with houses no less than 4500 sq ft. There are still some farms but they will give way soon to more development and fancy houses. A lot of retirees and Californians and East Coast folks have moved in -- and building big houses. I met a couple with an 8000 square ft home -- they have no kids but the walk-in closet is bigger than my living room and kitchen. They have no kids.
I am a father and husband and I have 2 kids (5 and 8). I do play music and if it was just possible -- I'd rather just do music. I use to gig more when I lived in the East Coast.
My wife has a small business teaching horse riding and occasional Pony parties.
